Welcome to Sparks Youth Art and Service Association’s 2025 youth activities! This year, we’re focusing on empowering young leaders through art and service. Join us as we volunteer at local senior centers, create community art projects, and organize engaging summer camps. Together, we’ll make a difference and build a brighter future.

2025.2.1 Sparks Amica West Vancouver

The room was filled with laughter and bright colors as the young artists shared their artwork with the seniors, sparking conversations and smiles. It was a heartwarming moment of connection between generations, all inspired by the beauty of flowers.

2025.2.22 Sparks Amica Edgemont Village

Sparks youth visited the Senior Center to draw scenery-themed pictures. Some seniors, already fans of the young artists, waited in advance to welcome them. The visit brought warmth and connection to everyone there.

2025.4.19 Sparks Amica Edgemont Village

Join us for our first drawing activity at the Senior Center after Spring Break in March, as we explore the theme of ocean animals. Participants  enjoyed expressing their artistic talents while learning about marine life, including the shapes, colors, and behaviors of fish, dolphins, octopuses, and more. It is a fun way to celebrate nature’s beauty and foster creativity in Spring.

 

2025.5.3 Sparks Amica Edgemont Village

We visited Amica Edgemont Village again during exam season to embrace the spring vibes with seniors. It was fantastic to unleash our creativity with colorful flower doodles! This was the perfect way to take a break from studying, allowing us to connect and enjoy some fun.  

2025.5.17 Sparks Amica Edgemont Village

Over the Victoria Day Long Weekend, we had an amazing time celebrating this Canadian holiday! We visited Amica Village and enjoyed connecting with the seniors’ community, sharing smiles, stories, and wonderful memories together.

   

2025.5.24 Sparks Amica Edgemont Village

Seniors enjoy a fun and creative session as they draw rivers and lakes, expressing themselves and reminiscing about past adventures. Laughter and conversation create a warm atmosphere, allowing them to bond over shared experiences and nature. Each brushstroke brings memories to life, making for an enriching afternoon of art and friendship.

 The Spark of Art and Love Art Exhibition and Charity Sale has achieved remarkable success! We showcased an impressive
collection of artwork from talented young artists in the Greater Vancouver area. Their creative expressions captivated the audience and raised a total of $8,066.93 through auction sales.All funds raised have been generously donatedthe Social Diversity for Children Foundation (SDC), supporting their vital programmes.

We are ready for our first summer session! Let’s reconnect and Share our exciting experiences from the past month. Bring your stories and energy to inspire our lovely seniors. Together, we will create a vibrant atmosphere full of laughter and community. Let’s make this session unforgettable!

We had a wonderful first visit back after summer, reconnecting with everyone. Spending the day with the seniors in creative activities, especially drawing flowers, brought smiles and joy. It was a heartwarming experience filled with laughter and artistic expression, and we look forward to many more visits like this!

We are excited to welcome a new volunteer this week for our drawing sessions with seniors. Their passion for art will enrich our creative environment, inspiring both seniors and our community. We hope to enhance everyone’s experience and foster new friendships through drawing.

It’s a crisp autumn day with vibrant leaves in orange, red, and gold. We’ve gathered at the Senior Center to joyfully celebrate the harvest season. The atmosphere is filled with laughter as we engage in activities that honor this time of year. One favorite is drawing; we set up easels and create fall scenery. Surrounded by nature’s sights and sounds, we share stories and enjoy each other’s company, savoring the simple pleasures of this special season.

He shares captivating stories from various eras and cultures, often blending humor with history, making our discussions enjoyable and fostering camaraderie. We look forward to engaging conversations and laughter as we explore the richness of our world’s past together.
